The Heavy Equipment Operator uses various heavy machinery to load, unload, and transport scrap metal materials within the yard. Equipment includes forklifts, front-end loaders, material handlers, and excavators. Promote a safe, secure and healthy work environment while keeping equipment clean and well maintained.
Requirements
- High level of customer service to the people we serve
- Excellent attention to safety
- Understanding of mechanics involving trucks and trailers
- Previous heavy equipment experience preferred
- Ability to lift and carry 50 pounds
- High School Diploma/GED
Responsibilities
- Safely operate heavy equipment including Fuchs Material Handler, forklift and more
- Perform daily maintenance and inspections on equipment such as lubricating, fueling
- Complete daily inspection reports
- Equipment and site cleanup
- Power wash equipment as needed
- Other duties as assigned
