The Heavy Equipment Operator uses various heavy machinery to load, unload, and transport scrap metal materials within the yard. Equipment includes forklifts, front-end loaders, material handlers, and excavators. Promote a safe, secure and healthy work environment while keeping equipment clean and well maintained.

Requirements

  • High level of customer service to the people we serve
  • Excellent attention to safety
  • Understanding of mechanics involving trucks and trailers
  • Previous heavy equipment experience preferred
  • Ability to lift and carry 50 pounds
  • High School Diploma/GED

Responsibilities

  • Safely operate heavy equipment including Fuchs Material Handler, forklift and more
  • Perform daily maintenance and inspections on equipment such as lubricating, fueling
  • Complete daily inspection reports
  • Equipment and site cleanup
  • Power wash equipment as needed
  • Other duties as assigned
