About The Position
Performs the operation of heavy equipment as assigned by the supervisor.
Requirements
- Must have good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Must have the ability to work with GPS units in the equipment.
- Must be willing to work shift work and be eager to accept responsibility and challenges.
- Must be able to recognize unsafe and adverse conditions and must have the knowledge to correct them.
- High school diploma/GED required.
Nice To Haves
- Vocational training or operating experience preferred.
Responsibilities
- Operate heavy equipment such as a track dozer, grader, backhoe, loader, coal haulers, scraper, end dump truck and water truck in all aspects of surface coal mine.
- Perform proper equipment startup and shut down procedures.
- Operate within acceptable range of all gauges on instrumentation panel.
- Performs job duties in accordance with MSHA law and regulations, established company safety procedures and State and Federal environmental regulations.
- Work with other equipment in a safe and organized manner.
- Assist maintenance department with route repairs.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
