About The Position
Muller, Inc. is seeking a skilled Heavy Equipment Operator to join our team in Manassas, VA. This position offers a competitive hourly wage of up to $29, depending on experience. The Heavy Equipment Operator will be responsible for operating various types of heavy machinery, including bobcats and mini excavators, to perform excavation and grading tasks for storm-water management facilities such as bioretention facilities, rain gardens, ponds, and sediment basins. The role may also involve supervising a small crew, depending on the operator's experience level. The operator will be expected to muck out and re-grade ponds, shoot grades for stakeout, and read and interpret cut sheets. When not operating larger equipment, the operator will run an underdrain or erosion and sedimentation (E&S) crew, managing a team of 2-3 individuals. This position requires a strong commitment to safety and the ability to work in various environmental conditions, as the operator will be performing manual labor that includes heavy lifting and operating machinery in potentially challenging settings. Candidates must be physically fit and capable of performing manual labor, including lifting up to 50 lbs. The role requires regular sitting and standing, as well as the ability to use hands for handling equipment and tools. Specific vision abilities are also necessary for the position, including distance vision, color vision, and depth perception.
