About The Position

The Heavy Equipment Operator Supervisor (Snow Removal) is responsible for supervising, coordinating, and performing snow removal operations by directing available crew and assisting in work. This role is crucial in maintaining a customer-focused organization, ensuring that guests are engaged and satisfied. The supervisor will oversee the hiring, training, and evaluation of staff, ensuring that all employees receive the necessary support and resources to accomplish established goals. The position requires effective communication skills and the ability to lead and motivate a team while ensuring compliance with safety regulations and operational standards.

Requirements

  • High school graduate.
  • Three years of heavy equipment operation or supervision experience.
  • Leadership and supervisory skills.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Basic math skills.
  • Planning, decision making, and problem-solving abilities.

Nice To Haves

  • Heavy equipment, OSHA, or other safety-related certifications preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Hires, motivates, evaluates, and directs staff to ensure adequate guidance and resources.
  • Ensures all parking lots and public areas are cleared of snow by a pre-determined time every morning.
  • Monitors weather and coordinates any necessary late day plowing operations.
  • Ensures all snow removal equipment is adequately maintained and in good working order.
  • Directs the establishment of departmental standards, guidelines, and objectives.
  • Assists the Director of Base Area Operations in achieving financial and profitability goals.
  • Monitors and evaluates operational projects to ensure successful execution.
  • Maintains and enhances a guest-focused culture in all areas of responsibility.
  • Maintains schedules in compliance with regulations and safety policies.
  • Maintains current status on legal issues and technological advances impacting the industry.
  • Communicates effectively with all levels of employees and guests.
  • Delegates responsibility and motivates direct reports to achieve goals.
  • Familiarity with state and federal environmental standards and OSHA regulations.
  • Understands corporate and resort-specific policies and procedures.
