This role involves operating heavy equipment loaders to support aggregate processing, plant feeding, and customer truck loading, while prioritizing safety and maintaining materials and equipment.

Requirements

  • Must be willing to work overtime and extended hours depending on customer and company demands.
  • Must be able to work outside in all types of weather conditions and tolerate being exposed to loud noises.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience operating heavy construction equipment.
  • Knowledge of general principles and practices of operating and servicing heavy construction equipment.

Responsibilities

  • Take an active role in prioritizing safety throughout the operation for yourself and others at all times in accordance with MSHA and Vulcan standards.
  • Follow established traffic patterns, avoiding hazardous conditions and immediately reporting any unsafe conditions.
  • Operate mobile equipment loaders to load aggregates for processing, feed the plant, and safely load customers’ trucks with desired specification products within legal load limits.
  • Operate a loader to strip and prep the site for mining and to push material closer to the feeder for processing.
  • Maintain an adequate feed of materials and maintain stockpiles.
  • Visually inspect materials for compliance with specifications.
  • Perform thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections and accurately completes daily mobile equipment reports.
  • Observe the plant and report any necessary maintenance or adjustments that may be required.
  • Clean yard and plant areas.
  • Participate in maintenance, repair, and general plant housekeeping activities.
  • Other duties as assigned.
