About The Position

Saiia Construction, a MasTec company, is currently hiring for Heavy Equipment Operators with Haul Truck experience in a Quarry setting in the Sylacauga, AL area. The Heavy Equipment Operator is responsible for operating heavy equipment including excavator, dozers, graders, dump trucks, front-end loaders, compactors, scrapers, and water trucks to move materials to and from designated areas, participate in required training and ensure all established safety rules, procedures, policies, OSHA and MSHA regulations are followed. Requirements

• Knowledge of EPA, OSHA, MSHA and other related state and federal regulations.
• Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
• Ability to use email, smart phone, tablet, or computer to manage company information and documents.
• Ability to draft routine reports and correspondence.
• Must be able to maintain acceptable attendance standards per employee handbook.
• Approach and complete work in a meticulous, thorough, and timely manner.

Responsibilities

• Operates excavator to dig holes and trenches and transport materials.
• Operates bulldozer or grader to gouge out, level, and distribute materials.
• Operates dump truck to transport and dump loose materials.
• Operates front-end loader to lift and transport bulk materials.
• Operates compactor to compact materials for construction projects.
• Operates scraper to move, haul, and grade earth on construction sites.
• Operates water truck to transport water and control dust on job sites.
