Summary: Under the direction of the Crusher Supervisor, maintains all crusher/clay/raw storage equipment, buildings, and grounds areas by completing assigned inspections, housekeeping and lubrication schedules for these areas.

Requirements

  • High school graduation or equivalent is required
  • Minimum of 2 years of relevant work experience preferred
  • Valid Driver's License and the ability to safely operate large vehicles
  • Ability to read, write and understand warning labels, instructions, signs, etc.
  • Willingness to learn, training will be provided
  • Must be a self-starter able to work with little or no supervision
  • Ability to perform all duties in a safe manner
  • Ability to perform minor maintenance
  • Ability to reason through operational issues as they arise and resolve them or communicate with others
  • Knowledge of equipment used in the manufacturing of cement preferred
  • Knowledge of hazards associated with areas of responsibilities
  • Excellent work and safety record
  • Understanding of Lockout/Tagout procedures

Responsibilities

  • Promote and follow all plant safety guidelines.
  • Schedule/perform lubrication and housekeeping of equipment operated daily
  • Assist in safety inspections and compliance with environmental regulations and hazard controls as required by company, MSHA, EPA and TCEQ
  • Perform daily pre-shift and post-shift safety and operational inspections on each piece of equipment operated; correcting problems by use of best judgment or notifying supervisor
  • Safely inspect belts and feeders in work area
  • Assist with Crusher and plant repairs from time to time
  • Ability to operate various sizes of haul trucks. (CAT 777, CAT 785, and Komatsu 785)
  • Knowledge of rock conveying and crushing equipment and associated hazards
  • Relieve Quarry personnel as needed to maintain production demands
  • Additional duties as assigned by supervisor
