Requirements

  • 3 plus years' dozer experience on heavy highway road construction projects
  • Physical ability to perform assigned labor-related tasks (climbing ladders, climbing in and out of ditches, prolonged physical exertions, including standing. reaching, bending, pushing, pulling, lifting, and carrying)
  • Physical ability to work in various conditions with exposure to weather elements
  • Basic knowledge of operating hand and power tools (hammers, sledgehammers, pry bars, screwdrivers, etc.)
  • Knowledge of how to properly read and understand construction plans, sketches, and blueprints
  • Flexibility to work days, nights, and weekends as needed

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience with grade control systems preferred
  • Knowledge of finishing roadways
  • Provide own hand tools, hammer, pouch, level, 8” crescent wrench, tape measure, etc., a plus

Responsibilities

  • Equipment operation under the direction of the supervisor
  • Follow all required company and general safety rules, policies, and guidelines
  • Level the soil, move rock and debris to other locations on the job site, and scoop out soil
  • Perform excavation of lime, flex base, and general sub-grade operations
  • Recognize hazardous conditions and report to the supervisor
  • Work days, nights, and weekends as required
  • Communicate with others using verbal and non-verbal hand signals while operating equipment
  • Perform other construction-related duties as assigned by the supervisor
