About The Position

Coastal Precast Systems in Chesapeake VA is looking to add Heavy Equipment Operator class B CDC Driver to our team! full time positions available. Candidates should have at least one year of experience operating a variety of heavy equipment, including front loaders, mini excavators, and cranes. You will be responsible for inspecting trucks before and after you use them, load and unload cargo, and move raw material from one area to another. When necessary, you will also perform a routine maintenance check. All equipment operators must follow company and governmental safety guidelines at all times. Benefits offered after 90 days of employment.

Requirements

  • Valid Class B Commercial Driver’s License (CDL)
  • Minimum of 2–5 years of experience operating heavy equipment (experience in precast or construction preferred)
  • Clean driving record/ Driving record required for hire.
  • Strong understanding of equipment safety procedures
  • Ability to read and interpret work orders and site instructions
  • Experience working in an industrial, construction, or manufacturing environment
  • Basic mechanical knowledge for routine equipment maintenance
  • Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
  • Ability to sit, stand, bend, climb, and operate equipment for extended periods
  • Comfortable working in high-noise, heavy industrial environments

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in precast concrete operations
  • Rigging and load securement knowledge
  • Forklift certification (or ability to obtain certification)
  • Knowledge of DOT regulations
  • Familiarity with hydraulic systems
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Operate heavy equipment including loaders, forklifts (industrial and rough terrain), skid steers, excavators, and other machinery as assigned
  • Safely transport precast concrete products, raw materials, and equipment within the plant yard and job sites
  • Perform daily equipment inspections and complete required maintenance logs
  • Identify mechanical issues and report maintenance needs promptly
  • Assist with loading and unloading trucks in a safe and efficient manner
  • Follow OSHA regulations and company safety protocols at all times
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area
  • Work collaboratively with production, dispatch, and yard personnel
  • Support general yard and plant operations as needed
