The position is for a Heavy Equipment Operator-CDL Driver located in East Chicago, Indiana, with a pay rate starting over $25.00 and project-specific prevailing wage rate opportunities, along with full benefits through the Operating Engineers Local 150 Union.

Requirements

• Valid driver's license required at time of application. MVR check will be conducted.
• Passing a pre-employment drug screen and criminal background check.
• Willing to obtain OSHA 10 Certification.
• Ability to work 40+ hours a week and be able to work days, nights, weekends, and be on call when asked.
• Must have the ability to travel out of town.
• Valid CDL A, B, Tanker and Airbrake Endorsement for 3 years or more.
• Hydro excavation Experience, Vac truck and tanker experience is a plus.
• Willingness/ability to enter confined spaces for general cleaning and inspection.
• Have Hazmat certification or must obtain within 90 days.

Responsibilities

• Performs industrial maintenance work, including vacuuming industrial waste and/or materials (solids, sludge and liquids) and other related duties.
• Operate and drive equipment for Roadway Division Crack Sealing projects.
• Sets up and breaks down vacuum piping, hoses and hydro-hose runs.
• Directly responsible for assisting in the establishment and implementation of safety practices on a 'per job' basis.
