About The Position

The primary purpose of this position is to conduct repair and maintenance on heavy to light equipment, trucks, generators, and other mechanical equipment. The incumbent must have the ability and flexibility to work varying shifts and long hours (8-12 hours). Weekend work and extra hours occur according to production needs and at the discretion of the Supervisor. The incumbent must support the guiding beliefs and core values of Orion which are centered on Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Teamwork, most importantly with each built upon the all-important foundation of Integrity.

Requirements

  • Five years related mechanic experience is required.
  • High School diploma or GED preferred.
  • Ability to drive to jobsites on a daily basis.
  • Must have own tools.
  • Knowledge of 360 software preferred.
  • Computer skills preferred.
  • The incumbent should have extensive knowledge of gas, diesel, and electric driven engines, hydraulic systems, and electrical schematics.
  • Additionally, qualified candidates will need a high level of analytical ability for project efficiency.
  • Successful candidates must have the ability to interact and communicate effectively with others and be willing to share skill set and knowledge as appropriate.

Nice To Haves

  • CDL Class A or B is a plus.
  • Knowledge of 360 software preferred.
  • Computer skills preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoots and diagnoses issues with equipment and/or tools including hydraulic systems.
  • Disassembles motors or parts of motors to replace, clean, or perform maintenance.
  • Maintains electronic repair logs for each repair.
  • Makes welding repairs or fabrications in the shop or on jobsite.
  • Creates a safe and clean working environment per company rules and guidelines.
  • Works on pump truck equipment as needed.
  • Works well with others in high stress situations.
  • Performs other routine duties as outlined by supervisor.
  • Responsible and accountable for incumbent's own personal safety.
  • Performs other related duties as may be assigned or requested by immediate supervision.
  • Wears proper PPE at all times.
