Your role as a Heavy Equipment Mechanic As a Full Time Heavy Equipment Mechanic at J T Russell & Sons, you will play a crucial role in the safe and efficient maintenance of our rock crushing equipment, earthmoving machinery, and paving tools. This position requires you to perform preventative maintenance and repairs on all company-owned vehicles, including dump trucks and pickups, ensuring they operate smoothly and safely. You will be responsible for changing oil and other essential fluids, keeping our fleet in top condition. Additionally, you'll maintain an organized and clean shop environment, where good housekeeping is emphasized. Your expertise will directly contribute to our commitment to safety and excellence in the construction industry.

Requirements

  • 3+ years working as a mechanic
  • Insurable, clean Driver’s License
  • Able to troubleshoot engine problems and properly repair
  • Operating a wide variety of equipment including power, air, and hand tools.
  • Respectfully showing willingness to get the job done right within a tight time frame in an ever changing environment.
  • Prior experience using hand and power tools as well as shop equipment and tools.

Nice To Haves

  • Proficiency in operating a wide variety of equipment and tools, including power, air, and hand tools
  • Familiarity with welding processes and using a Voltage Meter

Responsibilities
