As a Heavy Equipment/Forklift Mechanic at R&R Solutions, you will be instrumental in upholding our high standards of vehicle maintenance and repair. This role involves applying your technical skills to perform comprehensive servicing on our commercial vehicles, including heavy equipment and forklifts. Key responsibilities encompass conducting regular preventative maintenance, such as oil changes and tire rotations, as well as executing both minor and major repairs on our fleet of service trucks. You will work closely with our collaborative maintenance team to diagnose mechanical issues, plan efficient repairs, and ensure a safe and organized shop environment. Maintaining a clean workspace and moving vehicles safely between areas are also part of your duties. To excel as a Heavy Equipment/Forklift Mechanic at R&R Solutions, you must possess a variety of critical skills and qualifications. A high school diploma or GED is required, along with a clean driving record and a valid driver's license. While ASE Certifications are preferred, owning your own tools for the trade is essential. Successful candidates will demonstrate physical strength, capable of lifting and manipulating weights up to 50-75 lbs and performing tasks that involve frequent standing, bending, and crawling around commercial vehicles. Effective communication skills are a must, allowing you to collaborate with a tight-knit maintenance team to diagnose and resolve issues. Familiarity with operating equipment used in repairs, as well as excellent hand-eye coordination for precision tools, will aid in your success. Remember, safety is paramount; adherence to safety protocols and regular use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is mandatory in this role.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED required
Clean driving record with a valid driver's license required
Must own your own tools required for the trade
Operate equipment used in the repair or servicing of vehicles and equipment
Ability to frequently lift, push, and pull up to 50-75 lbs (often heavier with assistance) and manipulate large truck components and tools
Continuous standing, walking, bending, stooping, kneeling, and crawling in and around commercial vehicles
Ability to work in cramped or awkward positions for extended periods to reach engine or chassis parts
Excellent hand-eye coordination and fine motor skills for using precision tools and working with small components
Primarily in a repair shop with exposure to loud noises (engine, air tools) and temperature extremes
Frequent exposure to grease, oil, dirt, fuels, fumes, and chemicals, requiring strict adherence to safety protocols
Regular use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) including safety glasses, steel-toed boots, and hearing protection required
Work well with a team
Communicate clearly and effectively
Must pass pre-employment drug screen and background check
