About The Position

The Heavy Equipment Mechanic performs repairs, maintenance, and servicing of heavy equipment, vehicles, and motorized assets in the Motor Pool. The William J. Hughes Technical Center for Advanced Aerospace's normal hours of operation (NHO) are 6:00 A.M. through 6:00 P.M., Monday through Friday, except Federal holidays.

Requirements

  • The Contractor must provide a minimum of one (1) mechanic possessing Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) certification in one of the following series: Electronic Diesel Engine Diagnosis Specialist OR ASE Master Status.
  • Must have the ability to work on small engines, hydraulic equipment, low-speed electric vehicles, forklifts (all types), and generators (all types).
  • Employment is contingent upon successful completion of a pre-employment drug test.
  • Candidates must pass a background check prior to hire.

Responsibilities

  • Diagnose and repair mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems on heavy equipment.
  • Conduct preventive maintenance and inspections.
  • Service forklifts, low-speed electric vehicles, small engines, and hydraulic equipment.
  • Maintain service records and parts inventory.
  • Provide field-service repairs when required.
  • Ensure compliance with shop and field safety standards.
