About The Position

The Heavy Equipment Mechanic is responsible for assembling, disassembling, diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining company mobile and heavy equipment to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient operation. This role supports daily fleet readiness by performing mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical repairs, preventative maintenance, and quality control inspections. Heavy Equipment Mechanics work closely with other team members to minimize equipment downtime while ensuring all work complies with safety and regulatory standards. Accurate documentation, adherence to safety protocols, and a commitment to high-quality workmanship are essential to the success of this position.

Responsibilities

  • Assembles, disassembles, and repairs mobile equipment and its system’s components.
  • Tear down, replace, repair, and install equipment parts, components, and accessories.
  • Diagnoses and determines failure or disruption of mobile equipment and its systems.
  • Diagnose mechanical problems, replace and/or repair parts, test and adjust.
  • Assist with daily, weekly, and monthly inspections of company heavy equipment and vehicles to ensure they run safely and efficiently.
  • Performing quality control and quality assurance
  • Performing general and preventative maintenance on Transportation units (e.g., excavators, loaders, transport vehicles, etc.) in service.
  • Perform pressure washing of equipment to remove dirt, grease, and other contaminants, keeping machinery clean and functional.
  • Help troubleshoot, inspect, and repair various mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems under the guidance of senior mechanics.
  • Maintain accurate records of inspections, repairs, and parts usage.
  • Ensure all work meets safety and regulatory standards.
  • Work closely with team members and supervisors to prioritize tasks and minimize downtime for equipment.
  • Perform any other tasks assigned to support and improve the overall team operations
