About The Position

Sunstate Equipment Co. is seeking a Heavy Equipment Mechanic to join our team in Charlotte, NC. We prioritize safety and our people, and we are hiring immediately. This full-time position offers a typical schedule of Monday to Friday from 7 AM to 5 PM, with overtime eligibility. The pay range is between $24 to $30 per hour, depending on experience, along with a quarterly branch performance bonus. The role involves working in our shop and requires a strong background in diesel mechanics and heavy construction equipment.

Requirements

• 2-3 years of experience as a diesel mechanic with a construction equipment background.
• Intermediate experience with hydraulic, electrical, and diesel engines on heavy construction equipment.
• Must possess necessary tools for repairs.
• Safety-oriented with a commitment to maintaining industry and company safety standards.
• Willingness to learn and grow within the company.

Nice To Haves

• Experience with part ordering.
• Knowledge of heavy equipment repair and diagnostics.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventative maintenance, troubleshoot, diagnose malfunctions, and repair heavy construction equipment.
• Inspect, service, and test equipment to ensure performance meets manufacturer specifications.
• Utilize necessary tools for repairs, averaging $5,000+ in value.
• Maintain safety standards while performing equipment repairs.
• Demonstrate a basic understanding of schematics, computer diagnostic software, and welding methods.
