About The Position

Waste Connections is hiring a dedicated Heavy Equipment Mechanic at our landfill in Red Rock, Arizona! The position requires a Monday to Friday schedule with a start time of 6:00 AM, totaling 50 hours per week. The starting pay ranges from $25.00 to $26.00 per hour, depending on experience.

Requirements

• Must be 21 years of age or older.
• Valid drivers license (CDL preferred, but not required).
• Ability to read, write, comprehend and communicate in English.
• 2 years of experience preferred.
• Must own personal tools.

Responsibilities

• Perform repairs and assigned preventative maintenance services.
• Perform inspections, diagnosis, and repair of electrical, hydraulics, suspension brake and air systems on vehicles and equipment.
• Utilize vehicle computer electrical systems to interpret failure modes to initiate or assign repairs.
• Complete required paperwork utilizing fleet maintenance software program associated with repairing vehicles, documenting parts usage, and accounting for repair times.
• Review, complete, or assign repairs identified on Driver Vehicle Inspection Reports.
• Conduct safety checks on vehicles and equipment.
• Perform service calls for emergency breakdowns.
• Maintain a clean, safe work environment in compliance with corporate and OSHA standards.
