Heavy Equipment Fuel/Lube Technician (CDL)
About The Position
Summary The Lube Technician (Heavy Equipment) is responsible for fueling, servicing, and maintaining heavy equipment. Essential Job Functions Perform daily service on various jobsites to include lubricating of heavy construction equipment, which includes checking fluid levels, changing fluids and greasing Prior experience working on heavy equipment is preferred including diagnostics, maintenance and repair of diesel and gas engines, transmissions, hydraulics and electrical systems on heavy equipment Familiarity with tools and procedures necessary for diagnosis and repair of heavy construction equipment and trucks Possess problem solving skills essential to the diagnostics and repair of heavy construction and support equipment Routine inspection, and maintenance of heavy equipment and support equipment including gas and diesel engines, transmissions and drives including hydraulic and electrical systems Possess a valid Commercial Driver’s license (CDL) with HAZMAT and tanker endorsement Perform other related duties as assigned Detail-oriented with the ability to process information quickly and accurately Takes initiative and prioritizes tasks: organizational, problem-prevention and problem- solving skills Dependable and able to work independently with little supervision as well as with a team of individuals Knowledge, Skills & Abilities A minimum of 3 years’ experience in repair/service heavy civil construction equipment required High School diploma or its equivalent Must have the ability to climb ladders and operate equipment in a safe and efficient manner Working knowledge and understanding of OSHA and DOT rules and regulations Good communication skills and the ability to work in a team environment are required Additional Requirements This position is exposed to high temperatures; cool/cold temperatures; loud noises and fumes. Work in the construction area poses significantly greater risk due to moving construction equipment and active construction zones with trip and fall hazards. Requires valid state-specific driver’s license and acceptable motor vehicle record that meets Haydon’s insurability requirements.
Requirements
- Possess a valid Commercial Driver’s license (CDL) with HAZMAT and tanker endorsement
