About The Position

EquipmentShare is seeking a Heavy Equipment Field Technician (Mechanic) for their rental facility in McKinney, TX. This role involves providing maintenance and repair for a variety of customer and company-owned heavy equipment machinery and aerial lifts, working with the newest fleet in the industry. Requirements

  • Must own tools applicable to position.
  • Possess advanced mechanical aptitude and working knowledge of tools.
  • Have extensive knowledge of construction equipment with an advanced understanding of schematics and diagrams.
  • Demonstrate superior customer service, teamwork and verbal/written communication skills.
  • High School diploma.
  • Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record.
  • Must be at least 21 years old to operate company vehicle.
  • Must be able to move, stand, stoop and bend freely.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times.
  • Field Technicians may be required to be clean shaven in order to enter worksites for EquipmentShare customers who have this requirement.
  • Employment is contingent on passing a background check.
  • Passing a 10 panel drug screen (as this is a safety sensitive position).

Nice To Haves

  • Be knowledgeable of OSHA requirements.
  • Trade school certificate preferred.
  • Experience in field service, maintenance and repair preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Use technology (laptops and tablets) to create, assign, and monitor work orders, track machine service intervals, order parts, and diagnose issues faster by pulling data from hundreds of makes and models.
  • Determine the root cause and corrective action for each issue quickly using real-time information.
  • Practice safe job practices for repairing equipment.
  • Use technology (laptops and tablets) comfortably.
  • Perform maintenance and repair of complex mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and diesel systems on a variety of rental and customer equipment and tools while using a high degree of independent judgment.
  • Assist in the training of lower level technicians as needed.
  • Maintain paperwork/electronic documentation of work performed (work orders) in a complete and timely manner on a daily basis.
  • Assist with pick-up and delivery of equipment & parts.
  • Travel to customer job sites for repair/maintenance of rental or customer owned equipment when required, maintaining service vehicle in a clean and professional manner.
  • Participate in year-round company provided OEM training.
  • Perform other duties, assigned as needed.
