About the position

Field Service Technicians are responsible for preventive maintenance, diagnostics, repair and service of Caterpillar diesel powered construction equipment. This is a skilled field service mechanic position working largely independently and out of a company-provided field service truck, performing at a variety of customer locations and service shops. Field Service Technician reports to the Field Service Manager, and serves customers typically located throughout the region. Sign on bonus up to $2,000.00.

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret technical instructions, safety manuals, service manuals, company policies and procedures.
• Work with electric/electronic and hydraulic system schematics, wiring diagrams, and equipment service manuals.
• Provide advanced troubleshooting and high quality repair service on construction equipment, engines and powertrains.
• Identify, troubleshoot, diagnose and provide quality repairs of Caterpillar equipment and related engine mechanical systems.
• Communicate with customers to provide exceptional customer experience.
• Know and follow all Company and customer safety rules.
• Maintain a clean, professional personal appearance at all times.
• Support the organization's mission, vision and values.
• Accept responsibility for mistakes or problems.
• Attend and participate in all meetings, trainings, and activities as required.

Requirements

• Field Service Technician training and/or equipment service and maintenance training through accredited technical schools, equipment dealerships or manufacturer training preferred.
• High school diploma required.
• Five (5) or more years' experience with equipment diagnostics and advanced troubleshooting on construction equipment.
• Able to work flexible schedules, including nights, weekends and on-call hours as required.
• Must demonstrate professionalism, integrity, adaptability and a strong customer service focus.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Possess and maintain a current, valid state driver's license with a current DOT medical card.
• Must have a basic set of industrial tools, including industrial hand tools, air tools, torque wrenches, and multimeters.

Nice-to-haves

• Candidates with limited equipment experience, but with strong engine experience will be considered.
