About The Position

We are growing and in need of an Heavy Equipment Field Mechanic for our VSS International, Inc. facility. The Heavy Equipment Field Mechanic will be part of a mobile construction crew who will service the Western states where our crews are currently performing work. The Field Mechanic will perform maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on our Heavy and Diesel Equipment when and where it is necessary. Our Field Mechanic may be away for periods of 2-3 weeks at a time.

Requirements

• 3-5 years' experience in diesel truck and heavy construction equipment repair.
• Basic welding & metal fabrication.
• Must have own tools.
• Class A Commercial Driver’s License required.
• Capability to travel to construction sites and be away for periods of 2-3 weeks at a time.

• Ability to follow direction unsupervised and work well alone or in a team environment.

Responsibilities

• Travel in a Commercial maintenance truck to various jobsites throughout the western US.
• Repair and maintenance on specialized equipment such as oil distributor trucks, loaders/rollers, macropavers, pick-up trucks, and other various equipment.
• Perform visual inspections, repair, and preventative maintenance on all construction equipment.
• Work in the shop when needed.
