About The Position

If you are a skilled mechanic used to working independently and traveling to customer sites, we want to talk to you! Vermeer All Roads in Chesapeake, VA is searching for a Heavy Equipment Field Mechanic with previous experience to cover the eastern Virginia territory (Hampton Roads/Chesapeake). In this field-based role, you’ll travel to customer sites to diagnose, service, and repair Vermeer machinery and components. Use your mechanical abilities to make a difference each day with customer's equipment.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED
Hands-on hydraulic and electrical troubleshooting experience
Welding experience
Ability to travel daily within assigned territory for field service calls
Excellent written/verbal communication and customer service skills
Positive attitude: ability to multitask, prioritize, and work efficiently
Valid driver’s license and insurable by our carrier (clean driving record)

Responsibilities

Service, repair, and recondition Vermeer equipment as directed by the Branch Service Manager
Diagnose malfunctions in hydraulic and electrical systems
Recommend appropriate repairs and prepare accurate estimates
Perform welding/fabrication as required
Apply current industry/technical advancements in daily work
Maintain accurate, detailed records of all repairs performed
Communicate with OEM/factory for technical assistance
Perform other duties as assigned
