About The Position

Snapsheet is looking for self-motivated, competitive go-getters to join our growing team as Heavy Equipment Appraisers. In this remote, production-based role, you'll manage a high volume of claims for insurance carriers across the U.S. and Canada. As a Heavy Equipment Appraiser, you're a subject matter expert in evaluating damage to large commercial vehicles and machinery. You thrive in a fast-paced environment, constantly seek improvement, and enjoy collaborating with like-minded professionals. Whether negotiating with a repair shop or coordinating with a teammate, you communicate clearly and professionally. If you have estimating experience in one or more heavy equipment lines—but haven't worked with all the vehicle types listed—we still want to hear from you. We provide ongoing training and support to help you expand your skillset and grow into the role.

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of experience estimating damage to heavy equipment (e.g. semi trucks, trailers, agricultural or industrial machinery)
• Auto or specialty estimating experience is a plus
• Deep knowledge of parts, heavy equipment repair methods, total loss evaluation, and equipment configurations
• Solid grasp of insurance principles—liability, total loss thresholds, and fraud detection
• Proficiency in one or more estimating platforms (CCC One, Mitchell, Audatex, AdjustRite)
• Strong critical thinking, communication, and decision-making skills
• Positive team player who thrives in a fast-paced, remote, production-based environment
• Adaptable, coachable, and committed to growth

Nice To Haves

• State appraiser or adjuster license (or willingness to get licensed—we'll help!)

Responsibilities

• Write fair, accurate estimates and supplements for heavy-duty vehicles and machinery—including semi trucks, trailers, agricultural equipment, and construction machinery—based on photos of physical damage
• Ensure compliance with carrier and state-specific guidelines
• Negotiate agreed-upon repair pricing with shops while maintaining professionalism
• Consistently meet or exceed productivity and quality expectations
• Tailor estimating strategy based on vehicle type, carrier expectations, and feedback
• Integrate QA and team leader feedback to continuously improve
• Create clear, detailed claim documentation using internal tools and external resources
• Communicate effectively with repair shops, carriers, and customers
• Collaborate remotely with peers and managers while working independently
