About The Position

Stepp’s Towing & Heavy Transport is seeking experienced Heavy Duty Tow Truck Operators to join their team. The company, a family-owned business since 1960, proudly serves the greater Tampa Bay and Orlando areas, specializing in light-, medium-, and heavy-duty towing, heavy transport, and auto salvage. They are looking for candidates with a positive attitude, strong customer service skills, and effective problem-solving abilities. The role requires individuals who are passionate, motivated, open to growth and challenges, proactive in building customer relationships, professional in appearance, and committed to continuous improvement and fostering a positive team environment. Operators will be assigned their own truck and are expected to represent Stepp’s with pride.

Requirements

  • Class A CDL with at least 2 years of verifiable experience
  • Current DOT Medical Card
  • Proven heavy-duty towing experience required
  • Registered in the DOT Clearinghouse
  • Clean driving record
  • Able to pass background check and drug test
  • Must have own set of tools once assigned

Responsibilities

  • Operate Heavy Tow Trucks, Rollbacks, and Service Trucks efficiently and safely
  • Respond to Florida Traffic Incident Management Program calls (RISC)
  • Work safely at accident scenes, often in traffic and all-weather conditions
  • Cooperate closely with law enforcement and other first responders
  • Communicate effectively with dispatchers and customers
  • Operate GPS mapping devices
  • Ability to lift at least 50 lbs.
  • Proactively build customer relationships and provide thoughtful solutions
  • Maintain a professional appearance and represent Stepp’s with pride
  • Strive for continuous improvement by embracing new tools and processes
  • Demonstrate respect toward co-workers and foster a positive team environment
  • Promote opportunities within the company and through referrals
