About The Position
Transdev in Dulles, VA is seeking a Heavy Duty Mechanic to bolster our team. This role demands expertise in diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining diesel engines across various vehicles and equipment. As a Heavy Duty Mechanic, you'll play a crucial role in ensuring safety, efficiency, and longevity for our vehicles. Transdev is proud to offer: Competitive compensation package of minimum $28.00 – Maximum $35.00 An additional $0.25 per hour for each EVT certification you possess or obtain Benefits include: Vacation: minimum of two (2) weeks Sick days: 5 days Holidays: 11 days Other standard benefits: 401(k) retirement plan, medical, dental and vision, life insurance, short-term disability, voluntary long-term disability. Requirements
- Valid driver’s license required; Willingness to obtain CDL while employed – We train!
- At least 1 year of automotive or diesel maintenance & repair experience or technical school education
- Possess a mechanic’s toolset
- Willingness to participate in the ASE certification program. Training, testing, and bonuses are provided!
- Subject to DOT drug testing. DOT Regulation 49 CFR Part 40 does not authorize the use of Schedule I drugs, including marijuana, for any reason.
- Be eligible to work in the United States without requiring sponsorship now or in the future (if based in the U.S.).
- Successfully pass a pre-employment drug screen.
Nice To Haves
- Virginia State inspection license is highly preferred
- EVT Certification is a plus!
Responsibilities
- Assist with preventive maintenance (PMs), safety inspections, and annual DOT maintenance inspections.
- Diagnose and perform all phases of vehicle and equipment repair, including brakes, suspensions, drivetrains, & transmissions.
- Ensure work orders are completed accurately.
- Assist with mobile emergency services.
- As a Diesel Mechanic with Transdev, you will help maintain and repair fire trucks, ambulances, and other equipment to ensure vehicle readiness & safety.
