North American Trailer is excited to announce that we have expanded our family of companies to Chippewa Falls, WI. We are looking for an experienced technician for our Diesel Truck Shop. We are looking for someone detail oriented, strong mechanical aptitude, and a strong work ethic. This position handles the complete repair and maintenance of heavy-duty trucks and trailers. Requirements

  • Mechanical aptitude (prior experience as a technician is a plus, but we will train!)
  • Welding experience a plus for trailer technicians
  • DOT Certification is a plus
  • Ability to lift 50-100 lbs. occasionally and 10-50 lbs. frequently
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Clean driving record
  • Reliability and a dedication to be a hard worker
  • Ability to work independently maintaining a safe, efficient and friendly work environment
  • Honesty and respect

Responsibilities

  • Performs routine servicing and repairing of diesel trucks or trailers, depending on the shop.
  • Diagnose, troubleshoot, disassemble vehicles and examine parts for defects and excessive wear.
  • Corrects vehicle deficiencies by removing, repairing, adjusting, overhauling, assembling, disassembling, and replacing major assemblies, sub-assemblies, components, parts, or systems, such as, power and drive trains, electrical, air conditioning, fuel, emission, brake, steering, hydraulics; completes machine shop operations; making adjustments and alignments including bearing loads, gear tooth contact, valve mechanisms, governors, oil systems, control linkages, clutches, and traction units.
  • Perform repair and customization work as assigned including routine maintenance, brake replacement/repair, suspension repair, electrical and pneumatic and hydraulic component troubleshooting and repair, trailer body repair including complete trailer rebuild.
  • Provide after-sale services, such as component installation
  • Semi-trailer maintenance /repairs
  • Inspect the overall condition of Truck and Trailer to ensure that they meet U.S. Department of Transportation's safety requirements.
  • Compile inspection reports detailing their findings
  • Track all parts and materials used in repairs or replacements.
  • Ensure the final work product meets quality standards
  • Maintain a safe and clean work area for customers and co-workers
