The GSE Supervisor oversees the maintenance, repair, and operational readiness of ground support equipment at ORD. This leadership role ensures that the team of mechanics and technicians meets performance standards, adheres to safety protocols, and delivers exceptional service to support airport operations.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience in GSE maintenance or a related field, with at least 1 year in a supervisory role.
  • In-depth knowledge of GSE systems and components.
  • Proficiency in diagnostic tools and maintenance software.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Proven track record of managing teams and delivering results.
  • Valid driver’s license required.

Nice To Haves

  • Relevant technical certifications (e.g., ASE, GSE-specific training)
  • CDL

Responsibilities

  • Supervise, mentor, and manage a team of mechanics and technicians. Assign tasks, monitor performance, and provide regular feedback to ensure quality work.
  • Ensure scheduled and unscheduled maintenance tasks are completed efficiently and effectively. Perform quality checks to verify repairs meet safety and operational standards.
  • Collaborate with airport operations and other stakeholders to prioritize equipment needs. Ensure minimal downtime by proactively addressing maintenance issues.
  • Coordinate with the Parts Agent to ensure availability of necessary parts and supplies. Optimize the use of tools, equipment, and manpower to achieve operational efficiency.
  • Enforce adherence to all safety protocols, company policies, and regulatory standards. Conduct regular safety audits and training sessions for team members.
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, equipment status, and employee performance. Generate reports and provide updates to management on operational performance and challenges.
