About The Position

Staffmark is hiring a Heavy-duty (25K) Capacity Forklift Operator in Houston, TX, to work for the leading distributor of carbon and stainless pipe, fittings, and flanges. The Forklift Operator will perform an array of functions that may include receiving and processing incoming stock and materials, picking and filling orders from stock, packing and shipping orders, or managing, organizing, and retrieving stock in the pipe yard. This is a temp-to-hire opportunity.

Requirements

• 3-5 years of pipe yard and forklift experience and experience operating a heavy equipment industrial forklift (25K+ pounds).
• Forklift certification is required, and experience handling pipe (both carbon and stainless steel is a plus).
• Excellent work ethic, ability to work self-directed and as a flexible team player, and ensure all safety rules are strictly observed.
• Ability to sit, stand, use hands to handle or feel, climb, or balance, and lift up to 50 pounds as required.

Nice To Haves

• Experience handling pipe (both carbon and stainless steel is a plus).

Responsibilities

• Assist shipping and receiving by unloading trucks and checking in merchandise.
• Sort and place materials or items on racks, shelves, or in bins according to organizational standards.
• Maintain a safe and clean work environment by keeping shelves, pallet areas, and workstations neat, sweeping, dusting, mopping, and organizing work always.
• Always wear proper safety equipment and perform any other duties as requested by the respective supervisor or manager.
