About The Position

As a Heavy Commercial HVAC Changeout Mechanic, you will be responsible for the efficient replacement and commissioning of commercial HVAC systems in various types of facilities, including hospitals, data centers, large industrial facilities, and strip malls. This role is crucial in ensuring our clients' buildings have reliable and efficient heating and cooling solutions through the seamless transition from old to new systems. We do NOT work in DC or Maryland. Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in commercial HVAC changeout/installation or service/repair.
  • Strong knowledge of HVAC systems, components, and changeout procedures.
  • Proficient in VRF, Chillers, Dry Coolers, Boilers, Fan Coils, Etc..
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals.
  • Proficient in the use of HVAC diagnostic tools and equipment.
  • Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
  • Strong communication and customer service skills.
  • Valid driver's license with an insurable driving record.
  • Universal EPA certification required; Manufacturer-specific training is a plus.

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of Building Automation Systems is a plus.
  • Universal EPA certification required; Manufacturer-specific training is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Safely disconnect and remove old HVAC units and associated components.
  • Install new HVAC units, including connecting electrical wiring and refrigerant lines.
  • Conduct system tests to ensure proper functioning and performance.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve any issues that arise during the changeout process.
  • Maintain accurate records of work performed and provide detailed reports.
  • Communicate effectively with building owners or managers on job sites.
  • Ensure all work complies with local codes, regulations, and safety protocols.
  • Safely drives company vehicle, follows requirements of company vehicle driving policy and adheres to all safety requirements.
