Heating Service Technician I
About The Position
While working under the supervision of a licensed Gasfitter or Oil Burner; Assisting in the installation of gas lines, pipes, and fittings Learning to install, repair, and maintain appliances (furnaces, water heaters, boilers, stoves, fire places, etc) Cutting, threading and assembling pipes according to specifications Sealing joints and ensuring proper connections using tools and sealants Learn to test gas systems for leaks and proper operation using specialized tools for each task Learning how to troubleshoot and diagnose issues in gas and/or oil systems Learn how to adjust and calibrate appliances for efficiency Document work performed and complete service reports Interact with customers to explain basic system functions and work being performed Assist with responding to after hour emergency calls for leaks or system failures (on occasion) Follow all safety procedures and protocols, including wearing all proper PPE Irving Oil is committed to supporting a diverse and inclusive work environment.
