This role is part of Blue Origin Operations, which is comprised of Integrated Supply Chain, Test Operations, Safety, Quality, and Mission Assurance. This includes Manufacturing and Supply Chain support across all Blue Origin facilities. As a Heat Treat Operator I, you will operate and monitor our Ipsen 6 and 12 bar vacuum furnaces to perform precision heat treating operations according to specifications. This entry-level position offers training and growth opportunities in advanced thermal processing technologies.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • 0-2 years of experience in manufacturing or metalworking (heat treat experience preferred but not required)
  • Mechanical aptitude and basic computer skills
  • Ability to read and interpret technical documents, work instructions, and blueprints
  • Attention to detail and commitment to quality
  • Ability to work in a team environment
  • Willingness to learn metallurgical principles and heat treatment processes
  • Ability to lift up to 40 pounds
  • Standing for extended periods
  • Working in an environment with elevated temperatures
  • Ability to wear required PPE

Responsibilities

  • Operate Ipsen 6 and 12 bar vacuum furnaces according to established procedures and work instructions
  • Load and unload parts from furnaces using appropriate fixtures and handling equipment
  • Monitor furnace cycles, temperature, pressure, and other critical parameters
  • Record process data and maintain accurate documentation
  • Inspect parts before and after heat treatment for quality assurance
  • Clean and maintain furnace equipment per preventative maintenance schedules
  • Follow all safety protocols and procedures
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives
