About The Position

Pratt & Whitney is working to once again transform the future of flight—designing, building and servicing engines unlike any the world has ever seen. The Heat Treat Operations Supervisor will oversee a team while defining and implementing plans to support the objectives of the business including Quality, CORE, Employee Fulfillment, and Financial Metrics. This position requires hands-on troubleshooting and formulating/implementing solutions via CORE (Customer Oriented Results and Excellence) initiatives. The role involves coaching employees in team development and motivational strategies, managing all aspects of the assigned hourly workforce, and ensuring compliance with Environmental Health and Safety (EH&S) programs.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree and minimum 2 or more years of experience in an engineering, manufacturing operations, quality or related industrial environment.
  • Associate's Degree and 4 or more years of experience in an engineering, manufacturing operations, quality or related industrial environment.
  • High School diploma or equivalent and 6 or more years of experience in an engineering, manufacturing operations, quality or related industrial environment in absence of a degree.
  • Understanding of internal and external customer expectations/requirements.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
  • U.S. citizenship is required.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in a supervisory/team lead capacity.
  • Understanding of CORE/Lean manufacturing tools and concepts.

Responsibilities

  • Lead hands-on troubleshooting and formulate/implement solutions via CORE initiatives.
  • Oversee a team and define/implement plans to support business objectives.
  • Meet/exceed business metrics goals for Cost, Quality, Delivery, Environmental Health and Safety, and CORE.
  • Coach employees in team development and motivational strategies.
  • Manage all aspects of assigned hourly workforce including time & attendance, rewards, discipline, and training.
  • Implement root cause corrective actions to maintain quality standards.
  • Identify and resolve process improvement opportunities to enhance quality and reduce operational costs.
  • Create and communicate Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) on new processes.
