About The Position

What a day looks like You clock in, scan the production schedule, and pull up the day’s work orders, blueprints, and material specifications. With vertical and horizontal band saws, you cut raw stock to size, verifying every setting with precise measurements. You stage materials, then load and unload the chemical treatment vessel and ovens, operating the equipment according to manufacturer instructions. As cycles run, you keep the process stable: adjusting valves and controls to hold temperature, pressure, and vacuum; watching gauges and signals; and making targeted changes when reactions demand it. You document everything—materials used, jobs completed, any irregularities you encounter, and operational issues that limit throughput. Between runs, you unpack and inspect both internal and customer-supplied parts before and after treatment, label materials clearly, and complete NOX sampling along with maintenance logs. Quality is constant. You check first-article pieces and samples against prints, schematics, machining SOPs, and international standards. You perform routine chemical tests with standard equipment and follow established procedures to confirm conformance. When something isn’t right, you partner with Engineers and maintenance to troubleshoot, swap worn tooling, and return the line to steady-state. For complex machine operations, you work under the guidance of a supervisor. What you’ll bring Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and sketches; strong mechanical aptitude and solid math with fractions and decimals. Hands-on experience with saws and manufacturing environments is a plus; capable with hoists and both hand and machine-operated tools. Comfort using dimensional measurement tools (e.g., tape measure) and verifying setups. Proficiency with oven software, bar code scanners, and the ability to learn an ERP system. Clear, persuasive communication; collaborates well across levels and functions. Sound judgment with confidential and proprietary information; organized, detail-focused, and effective under pressure in a fast-paced, self-directed environment. Resourceful problem-solver who takes ownership to deliver new and valuable solutions. Ability to obtain and maintain industrial equipment certifications (e.g., forklift, tow motor). Growth and support You’ll develop expertise across materials preparation, chemical/thermal processing, and quality systems—building confidence through repetition and continuous improvement. Working environment Manufacturing setting with frequent exposure to loud noise, hard walking/standing surfaces, moving mechanical parts, and light to moderate airborne graphite dust. Natural and artificial light are present. PPE such as safety glasses/goggles and safety footwear is required. Physical/Sensory Requirements Physical/Sensory RequirementsThe following physical activities described here are representative of those required by a team member to perform the essential functions of this position. Reasonable accommodation, if feasible, will be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the functions of position.Must be able to stand for long periods of time, bend, reach, walk, and use hands and fingers to handle or feel. Ability to lift up to 75 pounds occasionally and up to 25 pounds frequently. Must be able to communicate effectively in English by telephone, in person and in writing. Effectively use a personal computer. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
