About The Position

The Lead supports and collaborates with the Heart & Vascular Supervisor/Manager to provide strategic and daily operational leadership for Cardiac Cath (CL), Electrophysiology (EP), Interventional Radiology (IR) or MCS/ECMO/Transport procedural areas in the South Region of the health system. Coordinates the daily operations of the department; maintains material/supply inventory; trains staff; conducts staff in-services. Partners with the educator to ensure successful onboarding. Based on the lead's licensure/certification, maintains above average skills and companies in all aspects of the specialty. Serves in a formal preceptor role to onboard new employees. Demonstrates flexibility, assists with scheduling, and staffing including weekend, holidays and call coverage (where applicable).

Requirements

  • A minimum of 5 years of procedural lab experience is required.
  • Bachelor’s degree in nursing, Health Science, Health Administration, or a related healthcare field is required.
  • Current state of Wisconsin Registered Nurse license, or ARRT registered.
  • If ARRT registered must have current State of Wisconsin license as a Radiographer, plus 1 of the following appropriate to procedural area: RCES or RCIS or Advanced certification through ARRT in ARRT-CI, ARRT-CV or ARRT-VI. For ECMO/MCS/Transport Department: Certified ECMO Specialist (CESA) or Certified Clinical Perfusionist, or graduate of a Commission on Accreditation of Respiratory Care (CoARC) accredited School for Respiratory care if not a nurse.
  • Basic Life Support for the Healthcare Provider (BLS) or an AHA approved equivalent is required within 3 months of hire.
  • Strong leadership, communication, interpersonal, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to effectively lead cross-functional teams and manage performance in a highly matrixed healthcare environment.
  • Proficiency with office technology, electronic health records, and technology in the specific procedural area.
  • Ability to travel between multiple clinical sites within the South Region as needed.

Nice To Haves

  • A minimum of 7 years of procedural lab experience is preferred.
  • Cath Labl or EP experience preferred
  • Leadership experience preferred
  • Master’s degree Nursing, Healthcare, Business Administration, or a related clinical discipline is preferred.
  • Clinical training or experience related CL, EP, IR or ECMO/MCS/Transport is preferred.
  • American Heart Association (AHA) Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) is preferred in IR.
