About The Position

The ideal candidate will be proficient in all aspects of adult cardiac surgery. The candidate will have a strong academic background, and expertise in heart and lung procurement, organ assessment and resuscitation, ex-vivo organ perfusion, ECMO cannulation and management, as well as all aspects of Cardiovascular Surgery.

Requirements

• Cardiac surgical experience preferred but not required, preferably as an advanced trainee or staff surgeon with strong surgical skills.
• Expertise in lung and heart procurement and transplantation.
• Expertise in ex-vivo heart and lung perfusion and normothermic regional perfusion.
• Expertise in ECMO cannulation and management.
• Eligible for Minnesota State Licensure.
• Interest and ability in education, simulation, and research would be valued.
• Exceptional collaboration and communication skills across specialties, disciplines, and with all levels of staff.
• Board-certified / eligible in Cardiovascular Surgery and eligible for medical licensure in the State of Minnesota.
