About The Position

The Healthy Opportunities Coordinator/Victim Advocate role at REACH of Macon County involves providing direct client services to support individuals affected by domestic violence and sexual assault. The position focuses on assisting clients in navigating Medicaid services and connecting them with resources that address social determinants of health. The coordinator will also collaborate with medical providers and social service organizations to ensure effective service delivery and advocacy for victims.

Requirements

• 1 year of experience in social services or human relations preferred.
• Familiarity with Medicaid programs and social determinants of health.
• Strong organizational, management, and leadership skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Ability to work independently and follow instructions.

Nice To Haves

• Experience in crisis counseling and dynamics of domestic violence and sexual assault.
• Training in Medicaid billing and Healthy Opportunities initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct client services including intakes, supportive counseling, and case management.
• Assist clients in navigating Medicaid services and referrals to Healthy Opportunities programs.
• Collaborate with medical providers and Medicaid partners for service delivery and billing.
• Manage all Medicaid billing for Healthy Opportunities services.
• Provide information and assistance with Victim Compensation and court advocacy duties.
• Develop and implement project activities integrating victim advocacy with Healthy Opportunities initiatives.
• Facilitate community collaboration with healthcare providers and social service organizations.
• Conduct research and distribute outreach materials related to victim services and Medicaid programs.
• Train and supervise project volunteers in victim advocacy and Healthy Opportunities programming.
• Document client files and programmatic information to ensure compliance with Medicaid standards.
• Cover hotline services and provide crisis counseling and peer support.
