About The Position

As a Healthcare Student Scholar, you’ll work alongside healthcare professionals, gain hands-on experience, and contribute to projects that support patient care, quality, and operations. This internship is designed to help you build confidence, skills, and a strong foundation for a future career in healthcare.

Requirements

• Currently enrolled college or university student
• Majoring in or exploring a healthcare-related field (such as Nursing, Health Sciences, Public Health, Healthcare Administration, Pre-Med, Allied Health, or similar)
• Reliable, organized, and eager to learn
• Comfortable working independently and as part of a team
• Professional, respectful, and patient-focused
• Education: Bachelor’s Degree or Equivalent 8 years experience required.
• Proficient computer and keyboard skills.
• Must be able to solve simple mathematical and logistical problems in the work environment.
• Must be able to work efficiently, manage time wisely, and follow policy and procedures with minimal supervision.
• Must have good interpersonal, communication, and listening skills.

Nice To Haves

• Experience utilizing Energy Star Portfolio Manager preferred.
• Experience with food waste reduction and/or donation programs preferred.

Responsibilities

• Learn about daily operations in a healthcare setting
• Support clinical or administrative teams with meaningful projects
• Help collect and organize information for quality improvement or patient experience initiatives
• Observe patient care activities (when appropriate and supervised)
• Attend meetings, trainings, and learning sessions
• Follow privacy and safety guidelines, including HIPAA
• Interacts with individuals at all levels of the organization as necessary, using whatever communication means are needed (e.g. e-mail, phone calls, face to face meetings).
• Manages data and information, and prepares reports and/or project summaries.
• Serves and participates on work teams as assigned.
• Actively participates in staff and committee meetings as assigned.
• Completes a project designed to benefit the healthcare system.
• Exercises technical abilities with respective software to support project and/or operational tasks.
• Proactively seeks out duties and responsibilities and appropriately prioritizes assignments.
• Meets with Manager/Mentor on a regular basis to discuss completed items, projects in progress and potential projects
