Healthcare Sterilization Systems Installer A day in this role Picture your morning: you load a company vehicle and head into Manhattan, Long Island, or Northern New Jersey to support a hospital project. Some weeks, you may be on a Monday–Friday trip, with up to two weekends a month as needed. Hours flex with Customer schedules—overtime is often available but never guaranteed. This high-travel role involves significant driving and periodic overnight stays. On site, you’re the face of STERIS—installing sterilizers, surgical lights/booms, and utility connections in operating rooms and sterile processing departments. You coordinate timing with the Installation Project Manager, verify rough-ins and utilities against specifications, confirm doorways/elevators/hallways allow safe transport, and then uncrate, position, level, connect, and test each unit. Before you leave, you complete electronic service documentation, dispose of packing materials, wipe down equipment, remove fingerprints, and address any final questions to ensure Customer satisfaction. At times, you’ll also support projects in other states and hospital systems, giving you exposure to diverse sites and teams.
