About The Position

The position functions as a supervisor of Security Officers, Lead Officers, and other company personnel assigned to one or more posts at client site(s). The supervisor ensures that all post orders are followed, established rounds are completed, and required reports are filed. In emergency situations, the supervisor notifies the proper authorities and the client. Responsibilities include coaching and disciplining personnel, training Security Officers, and reviewing post orders and assignment details with subordinates. The supervisor assists in submitting payroll and personnel information and ensures adequate coverage of all posts and positions. They prepare, file, and submit various reports as required, inspect posts as scheduled, and meet with subordinates to outline tasks and responsibilities. The supervisor also meets with client representatives to ensure that all security requirements are met and to provide quality customer service. Additionally, the role may involve carrying out supervisory duties such as interviewing, orienting, and training employees, planning and directing work, coaching performance, addressing complaints, and making hiring and termination recommendations. The supervisor may also perform the duties of a Security Officer as needed.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or G.E.D.
  • 2 years of related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in retail preferred.
  • Knowledge of security operations, patrol, inspection, and response services.
  • Knowledge of supervisory practices and procedures.
  • Ability to provide positive direction and motivate performance.
  • Understanding of security and safety devices and controls.
  • Ability to learn quickly and follow instructions.
  • Ability to maintain professional composure in unusual circumstances.
  • Strong customer service and results orientation.
  • Good organizational skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in a supervisory role within security operations.
  • Familiarity with state, county, and municipal licensing requirements for Security Officers.
