About The Position

Marina Security Services is a minority-owned and operated firm specializing in security services and guard staffing. We are seeking a dedicated and vigilant Security Officer to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining a safe and secure environment for our clients, employees, and visitors. This role requires a proactive approach to security, including monitoring premises, preventing losses, and responding to emergencies. Candidates should possess skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years of age
• Candidates must possess a valid BSIS Guard Card and Powers to Arrest/Appropriate Use of Force certification, or be able to obtain the required certification.
• Ability to perform necessary physical duties, i.e., walking, standing and making necessary rounds
• Must have basic computer skills and ability to use a smartphone

Nice To Haves

• Previous hospital or healthcare security experience is strongly desired, though not mandatory
• Spanish-speaking is preferred but not mandatory.
• Current First Aid, CPR, and AED certifications, or the ability to complete this training as part of their onboarding
• Candidates are required to complete CPI (Crisis Prevention Intervention) training as part of their onboarding

Responsibilities

• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Excellent communication skills for effective interaction with staff and the public.
• Respond promptly to alarms, incidents, and emergencies
• Strong observational skills with the ability to remain calm under pressure
• Implement loss prevention strategies to minimize theft and damage
• Prepare detailed reports on incidents, observations, and activities during shifts
• Collaborate with law enforcement when necessary to address security issues
