LTIP awards are subject to your continued employment through the award payment date, and are governed by the written terms and conditions of the LTIP document. What does this position do? (including but not limited to): The Program Manager drives effective portfolio governance to ensure strategic alignment, transparent decisions, and measurable value. The Program Manager leads complex organizational changes, connecting strategy to execution by coordinating cross‑functional teams, managing budgets and timelines, and ensuring accountability for major initiatives. The ideal candidate brings experience in governance frameworks, cross‑functional leadership, and managing multiple interdependent projects, along with strong strategic thinking, communication, and problem‑solving skills to deliver meaningful outcomes. Supports and adheres to the US Oncology Compliance Program, to include the Code of Ethics and Business Standards.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Project Management, Business Management, or a related field, master degree preferred.
  • Or
  • Associate’s Degree + four (4) years of related work experience
  • Or
  • High School diploma or equivalent and eight (8) years of related work experience
  • 7–10+ years managing complex, cross-functional programs; demonstrated outcomes in benefits realization and governance facilitation.
  • Experience working across clinical/operational, IT, and product domains and navigating executive steering, governance boards, and workstream leadership.
  • Experience working in healthcare.
  • Proven ability to manage dependencies and risks; excellence in stakeholder communications and executive storytelling.
  • Proficiency with program tooling (Smartsheet, Microsoft office, etc.) and data-informed decision support.
  • Ability to work independently in a remote environment and manage multiple priorties.
  • Detail oriented and proactive.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Professional demeanor with a collaborative mindset.
  • Strategic thinking & sequencing: connect initiatives to enterprise goals; build feasible roadmaps with clear trade-offs.
  • Governance Facilitation: Enable transparent, criteria-driven decisions
  • Delivery Discipline: Drive plan/execute/track/recover cycles with rigor; maintain standards and quality reviews.
  • Stakeholder & Change Leadership: Engage cross-functional leaders, clinical champions, and product groups; advance adoption and outcomes.

Nice To Haves

  • Professional certifications (e.g., PMP, PgMP, SAFe/SPC, LEAN Six Sigma, etc.) strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Translate enterprise objectives into program outcomes, KPIs, and benefits profiles; maintain a benefits realization plan and track progress to goals.
  • Ensuring program work remains aligned to approved priorities and is sequenced against capacity, dependencies, and readiness.
  • Manage program scope, schedule, budget, and resource needs across constituent projects; establish the coordinated plan and integrated milestone map.
  • Monitor performance against goals, dependencies, milestones, and budgets; publish dashboards and status at the cadence defined by governance.
  • Drive recovery planning when performance gaps arise; document lessons learned and integrate improvements.
  • Prepare materials for governance boards/steering committees, surface trade-offs, risks, and funding decisions with clear criteria and impacts.
  • Apply agreed prioritization methods to sequence work (e.g., RICE++, WSJF) and maintain transparency on what is approved vs. deferred.
  • Identify cross-workstream and cross-project dependencies and constraints early; run an active risk register and escalation path; coordinate mitigations across IT, clinical/ operational, and product stakeholders.
  • Partners with change management lead to assess adoption readiness and refine approaches.
  • Maintain strong stakeholder relationships and satisfaction; facilitate cross-functional collaboration forums.
  • Forecast resource needs, confirm contracting strategies, and ensure the right skill mix is mobilized; monitor team performance and adjust as needed.
  • Partner with operations and product teams to align enterprise architecture, data, security, and integration considerations.
  • Apply PMO standards, tools, and templates; measure adherence and coach delivery teams; establish quality reviews of deliverables.
  • Share successes, challenges, and lessons learned to strengthen program and team effectiveness
