About The Position

The Healthcare Product Development Chemist is responsible for conducting and assisting in pressure sensitive adhesive projects aimed at resolving customer-related issues. This role involves hands-on laboratory work, including mixing trials, polymer synthesis, testing, and data analysis, to develop innovative adhesive solutions and production processes that can be commercialized.

Requirements

• B.S., M.S., or Ph.D. in chemistry or a closely related field.
• Experience in polymer and/or adhesive chemistry is preferred but not required.
• Proficient in general chemistry laboratory protocols.
• Fluent communication in English.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality of AR information.
• Ability to perform duties with moderate supervision.
• Effective oral and written communication skills.
• Excellent interpersonal skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Aptitude to use sensitive test equipment.
• Proficient in PowerPoint, report writing, and effective e-mail communication.

Responsibilities

• Independently design limited scale lab experiments and contribute to lab-scale mixing and coating experiments.
• Assist in executing lab mixing and coating experiments designed by others.
• Assist and/or lead polymerization reactions for new adhesive development.
• Lead testing of production trials.
• Prepare samples and conduct various tests to determine properties of adhesives and tapes.
• Record, organize, and communicate results/data from experiments and testing.
• Perform analysis of data, draw conclusions, and make experimental recommendations.
• Draft reports and maintain lab areas, storage areas, and equipment.
• Follow all applicable waste handling procedures.
