About The Position

The position is for a full-time role at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center in Emergency Preparedness. The working hours are from 7 am to 4 pm, Monday through Friday, with periodic after-hours work required for equipment deployment. The pay range for this position is between $28.05 and $42.10 per hour. The role requires a Bachelor's Degree in Healthcare or Emergency Management, along with two years of experience in healthcare emergency management and one year in disaster preparedness planning, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. The candidate must hold current licensure to practice as a Healthcare Professional in the applicable state and must obtain specific certifications within one year of employment.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Healthcare or Emergency Management related field.
  • Two years' experience in healthcare emergency management.
  • One year experience in disaster preparedness planning.
  • Current licensure to practice as a Healthcare Professional.
  • Ability to gain certifications in ICS and FEMA within one year.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to operate forklift equipment.

Responsibilities

  • Adhere to hospital standards to promote a cooperative work environment.
  • Serve as the Operations Section Chief for the Healthcare Preparedness Coalition.
  • Coordinate regional resource request fulfillment and asset deployment.
  • Coordinate regional training courses based on identified gaps.
  • Serve as the Operations Section Chief for SMAT II deployments.
  • Assist SMAT II Team Leader with volunteer record management.
  • Act as the liaison and coordinator for Regional SMAT III and Ambulance Strike Team.
  • Attend meetings as requested by the NCOEMS Hospital Preparedness Coordinator.
  • Facilitate and coordinate regional disaster education, training, and exercises.
  • Complete all aspects of Scope of Work as determined by NCOEMS.
  • Assist the Mobile Disaster Hospital as necessary.
  • Assume responsibility for self-directed professional growth.
