About The Position

Milliman's Indianapolis Health Practice is seeking a Healthcare Policy Consulting Intern , who is a current law student enrolled at, and admitted into, IU McKinney's School of Law externship program. This position is ideal for a motivated professional who has an interest in state Medicaid public policy and regulatory analysis within a fast-paced healthcare consulting practice. This position provides excellent opportunities for professional development and growth in state and national health policy issues. The selected candidate will serve as a paid, part-time intern, over a 12-week period. Our team is able to accommodate a start date as early as May 2026. There is potential to extend the internship period, in addition to, the opportunity to convert to full-time employment upon graduation.

  • Current IU McKinney School of Law externship program participant
  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • Individual(s) must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for immigration support or sponsorship from Milliman now or in the future.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct, summarize and document research to support engagements for healthcare clients in areas such as:
  • Policy design, development, and implementation for Medicaid and other social service programs
  • Literature reviews on pertinent healthcare topics
  • Medicaid managed care program design, implementation, and evaluation
  • Medicaid demonstration waiver program design, implementation, and evaluation
  • Federal financing options and related compliance for Medicaid programs
  • Keep abreast of trends and regulatory changes affecting health clients
  • Assist with report writing and development of presentation materials
  • Communicate results to internal stakeholders
  • Ensure quality control processes and procedures are followed
