About The Position

This position in the Medical Evidence Gathering Group of the State Disability Review Unit involves gathering medical evidence for Medicaid disabilities determinations, requiring regular contact with applicants, physicians’ offices, hospitals, and other health care providers to collect necessary documentation for Medicaid disability determinations.

Requirements

  • High School graduate or equivalent.
  • 3 years of administrative experience.

Nice To Haves

  • Professional experience in public health insurance programs, including New York’s Medicaid, Medicare and/or Child Health Plus.
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access).
  • Ability to work well independently and as part of a team.
  • Experience managing multiple priorities to meet deadlines.
  • Experience using electronic data systems, such as eMedNY and NYSOH Back Office.
