We’re looking for an experienced Healthcare Legal Assistant to support an attorney in a downtown San Diego office. This is a full-time, non-exempt position with hours from 9:00 AM to 5:30 PM, with one remote day per week.

Requirements

• At least 7 years of solid legal assistant experience, with a deep understanding of court rules, filing procedures, and the full litigation life cycle.
• Experience in healthcare law.
• Expertise in state and federal court filings, document formatting, and proofing for accuracy and style.
• Strong technical skills with Microsoft Word (2010 or higher), Outlook, and document management systems (iManage experience a plus).
• Exceptional communication skills, strong initiative, and the ability to juggle competing priorities while maintaining an upbeat, team-oriented attitude.

Nice To Haves

• Familiarity with CompuLaw, Best Authority, Adobe Pro, Comparite, or CCC Macros.
• Experience in Healthcare Insurance, or Business Litigation is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Managing filings in both state and federal courts, including e-filing and adhering to strict deadlines.
• Preparing pleadings, discovery shells, tables of contents and authorities, and finalizing complex legal documents with precision.
• Coordinating case schedules, deadlines, and calendars.
• Communicating with clients and internal teams with professionalism, clarity, and warmth.
• Providing general administrative and litigation support to ensure cases move forward smoothly and efficiently.
