Arup seeks a dynamic and experienced Healthcare Electrical Engineering Leader / Project Manager to support our rapidly growing Healthcare Business in the West Geography. This role plays a key part in leading major projects-most notably a high-profile healthcare project in Phoenix-and contributes strategically to the expansion of our healthcare portfolio. As a senior leader, you oversee complex multidisciplinary teams, provide technical and project leadership, mentor future leaders, and embody Arup's mission of shaping a better world. Travel Requirements: Candidates not based in Phoenix must be willing to travel 20-40% for project-related needs. Candidates based in Phoenix will have limited travel requirements for project client meetings as needed. Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Architectural Engineering required.
  • Minimum 15 years of experience designing electrical systems for healthcare facilities required.
  • Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) or ability to obtain within 6 months required.
  • Minimum 8 years of experience leading multidisciplinary healthcare projects.
  • Confirmed experience with Central Plant Design and Acute Care Renovation Projects
  • Deep knowledge of applicable healthcare regulations and codes
  • Strong commercial savvy, client relationship development, and team leadership skills
  • Excellent communication and presentation abilities
  • Passion for sustainable design and alignment with Arup's mission and values

Responsibilities

  • Identify staffing needs and lead the recruitment and hiring of technical staff.
  • Support career development through mentorship, coaching, and performance evaluations.
  • Foster a culture of technical excellence, innovation, and inclusivity within the team.
  • Monitor and manage project budgets, financial performance, and risk.
  • Ensure contracts align with Arup's commercial objectives and risk management standards.
  • Lead financial communications with clients and negotiate project scope and schedule changes when needed.
  • Drive business development efforts, including developing strategies, proposals, and client pitches.
  • Represent Arup externally with clients and within the healthcare industry.
  • Cultivate trusted client relationships and find opportunities for new projects.
  • Serve as Engineer of Record and lead sophisticated healthcare projects across the region.
  • Ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
  • Oversee interdisciplinary coordination and handle overall project team performance.
  • Deliver high-quality electrical engineering designs for healthcare facilities.
  • Lead quality assurance and quality control processes while implementing technical best practices.
  • Translate client needs into technically sound, code-compliant, and innovative solutions.
  • Support Arup's strategic growth in the healthcare sector in the West, a key contributor to the region's income.
  • Play a critical leadership role in a confidential healthcare project in Phoenix.
  • Help grow the leadership capacity and operational excellence of the Healthcare team.
  • Strengthen Arup's presence and reputation in the healthcare industry.
  • Own the successful delivery of the confidential Phoenix healthcare project as a model for future growth.
