The Population Health (PH) team within Healthcare Economics - Medical Informatics is looking for a health economics professional to join the team as a Healthcare Economics Analyst role provides analytic support for complex and cross team analyses of population health strategies within the commercial, fully insured business, as well as the Medicare Advantage and Medicaid business. The successful candidate will act as a contributor in the development, deployment, and measurement of tactical and strategic plans of action related to the PH team's two core functions: 1) develop, deploy, and support state-of-the-art predictive algorithms to identify right member, right time, and right program, and 2) evaluate the effectiveness, efficacy and efficiency of our clinical programs using rigorous methods and advanced statistics. You'll enjoy the flexibility to work remotely from anywhere within the U.S. as you take on some tough challenges.

Requirements

  • BA/BS degree
  • 2+ years of hands-on experience using two or more of the following: SQL, Python, or SAS for data extraction, transformation, and statistical analysis
  • 2+ years of experience in the healthcare industry (payer, provider, pharmaceutical, etc.)
  • 2+ years of experience with data reporting and analysis

Nice To Haves

  • MA/MS within epidemiology, biostatistics, pharmacoeconomics, health services research, health economics, public health, economics, or a related/relevant discipline
  • Basic understanding of epidemiologic, pharmacoeconomic, and/or health services research design and methods, including the various methods of economic evaluation
  • Basic understanding of predictive analytics and data science with an ability to derive value from data and information
  • Basic understanding in the application of advanced statistics to evaluate economic, clinical, and humanistic outcomes
  • Familiarity with core concepts such as data warehousing, SQL querying, and working within Snowflake's cloud-based architecture
  • Comfortable working with datasets exceeding 1 million records, including data cleansing, transformation, and analysis to support healthcare economics and outcomes research
  • Demonstrated excellent written and oral communications skills

Responsibilities

  • Provide analytic support in the determination, demonstration, and communication of the value of population health and clinical affordability interventions designed to improve health outcomes, reduce health disparities, and increase the cost benefit of health care
  • Own end-to-end production processes related to population health and clinical programs, including monthly identification/stratification models, KPI's, leading indicator, and total cost of care reporting, and outcome measurement
  • Investigate non-standard requests and problems to produce ad-hoc reporting based on customer specifications
  • Translate research findings into actionable information to support business decisions
