About The Position

As a Data Analyst, the work you’ll do at GDIT will be impactful to the mission of the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS). You will be trusted to work on analyses and tools to detect and prevent fraud, waste, and abuse (FWA) in the Medicare programs. In this role you will: Contribute to completion of technical tasks independently and as part of a team. Analyze claims data and conduct statistical analysis. Assist with the development of data-driven solutions to business challenges of advanced scope/complexity. Use predictive modeling to increase and optimize efficiencies, process improvements, and other business outcomes. Assist with identifying opportunities for leveraging Medicare and Medicaid data to drive insightful FWA solutions. Collaborate with teammates including subject matter experts to deliver quality, actionable findings. Help prepare findings for presentation to a range of audiences (technical/non-technical) and to various levels of leadership. Perform additional duties as assigned. Effectively communicate with team members while working remotely.

Requirements

  • Bachelors degree with an analytical or technical focus (i.e., Statistics, Computer Engineering, Applied Mathematics) or related area
  • Minimum 2 years of related experience, preferably with background utilizing healthcare claims data
  • Proficient in SQL and familiarity with R or Python
  • Familiarity with Databricks and/or Snowflake

  • Possess a desire to learn about and stay up to date on healthcare FWA
  • Be a self-starter with a natural curiosity to understand, simplify and explain data
