JOB SUMMARY: Under minimal supervision, utilizes the appropriate systems and procedures to process payment, adjustments, and denials in the CBO  (Centralized Business Office) ABILITY TO READ AND UNDERSTAND PAPER INSURANCE REMITTANCE TO THE HOSPITAL/FACILITY 835 ELECTRONIC POSTING EXPERIENCE Ensures payments, adjustment and denial transactions are accurately posted and reconciled according to the department specifications. Totals transactions on Explanation of benefits and Electronic Remittance Advice and verifies that balances total al the respective deposits Importing of Electronic Remittance Advice from vendor into HIS system for posting Retrieve payment information from various banks

Requirements

• Formal working knowledge; equivalent to an Associate's degree (2 years college); requires knowledge of a specialized field
• 1-2 year's related experience with  hospital insurance and patient payment posting experience
• Needs to know how to read a paper remittance advice
• Needs to know how to balance out Out-of-Balance remits
• Needs to know what a Provider Level Balance/Provider Level Agreements are and what they stand for and how and when to apply them
• Strong mathematical aptitude
• Strong knowledge of Windows-based software applications. (Word, Excel)
• Attention to detail
• Positive attitude and team-oriented approach
• Position is located in Carroll County in our office on Old Westminster Pike.

Responsibilities
